Mommy and Daddy's weekend...

About a year ago, Paula gave Bill a gift certificate to the Bonneville Hot Spring resort. We finally got to use it a couple of weeks ago. It was great. The main attraction in the place is a huge pool that is fed by the hot springs. There are also two hot tubs that use the mineral water and a sauna. In addition to this, they have a complete array of spa services, which we did not try out, but the next time I go, I will definitely plan for a wrap and a message. I completely recommend it for a weekend get away. We spent the better part of two days soaking and lounging. I can't remember the last time I was so relaxed. It is located just off Highway 14 on the Washington side of the gorge, a few miles west of Stevenson, WA. So, on top of being wonderful and relaxing, the drive up there is beautiful. The one down side is that there are no actual signs for the place, once you get off the main highway, so, it's best to know where you're going.

For dinner the night we stayed, we decided to go into Stevenson to the Walking Man Brew Pub. We had the pizza special, which was really good and their beer sampler. The waitress recommended that we share the sampler, because the beer has such a high alcohol content. The weather was beautiful and we sat outside. During dinner, we were serenaded by bagpipers who happened to be playing in the field next to the brew pub. It was pretty entertaining.

Guess who drank most of the sampler.

Bill decided that we had to take some of the Stumblefoot '09 home to our friend Pat, who is a microbrew lover.
