Trip to the Lava Beds!

A couple of weekends ago, Bill and I were feeling very brave, so we loaded up my cousin's boys, Brenden and Jacob and our girls and headed out for a road trip. We stopped and had lunch in Sisters at an observatory. Here are the kids playing after lunch.

Jacob loves Abby's Batman. We almost had a brawl when it was time for Jacob to give him back at the end of the day.

Libby discovered that if she screams in the car, she gets everybody's attention. Not exactly what we were hoping for on a long car trip.

After lunch in Sisters, we headed for the Lava beds on highway 242.

The super-soakers and nerf guns were big on this trip.

Boys and guns.

Exploring the rocks.

Climbing the high tower.

After the lava beds, we took the boys to their grandma and grandpa's (my Aunt Kathy and Uncle David) for a BBQ and a sleepover for the boys.

Playing in the sprinkler.

Then, we build a bonfire and had s'mores. It doesn't get much better than that.
