Disneyland...the trip South.

Disneyland! Just the mention of it strikes fear into the hearts of parents! Being the brave souls we are (OK, I am, I had to talk Bill into it, but he was a pretty good sport about it), we decided to take the 2300 mile trip with both kids, my mom, and my sister (who are both very brave, too!) We rented a Kia Sedona (which we obviously liked, since we bought one when we got back) so everyone could ride together in relative comfort and headed to North Bend on Thursday night. The next morning, the whole crew loaded up and we headed off a little after 6 am. Here is Bill in the driver's seat. He drove all but about 200 miles of the trip.Everyone in their places. This is where everybody sat for the entire trip...Aunt Rhonda in the back with Abby and Grandma next to Libby in the middle.

Abby and Aunt Rhonda napping. We started early. We stopped in Winston for breakfast and hopped onto I-5 for the next two days.

We made a pit stop just south of the California border. We had loaded the girls up in their PJs when we started, so we got them dressed and their hair brushed and everyone stretched their legs.Libby's happy to be out of her car seat!

Even on the interstate, some of the scenery was great. Mt. Shasta.

We stopped for the first night at the Courtyard Marriot in Sacramento. We had dinner at the restaurant connected to the hotel where the service was super slow, but the food was really good. My friend Nicole lives and Sacramento and got to come visit, which was great.

Abby and Libby wrestling. I'm sure the downstairs neighbors loved us!

Looks like Libby's winning! The next day, we made the trip from Sacramento to Anaheim and arrived on Saturday late afternoon.

We were all pretty wiped out when we finally arrived. Luckily, we had planned to have Sunday as a day of rest before taking on the big D.

We stayed at the Worldmark timeshare in Anaheim (nice place, but the elevators are really slow) and spent most of Sunday in the pool and just relaxing. Well, except for a trip to Food for Less a little ways from the hotel...again, us being brave. Rhonda's friend Amanda arrived from Palm Springs and we all headed out to dinner at Bubba Gump's.

We borrowed this double stroller from one of Bill's co-workers. They also loaned us a portable DVD player for the trip. Both were awesome. I don't know how we would have gotten along without them.

Here's Libby with her silkie. This is the last time we saw silkie. It got dropped somewhere along the line that night and I had to order new ones when we got home. Check out comfortsilkie.com. These things are the greatest. I just wish the new ones would arrive.

After dinner, we stopped at an outdoor shopping mall, where a live musician was playing. He played American Pie for Abby, who got to dance with some college-aged dancers and totally loved it. Unfortunately, I don't have pictures of her doing it. The crowd who had gathered to watch the performer cheered and she totally ate it up!

Libby loved being able to roam free. The next morning we were up bright and early for our first day at Disneyland.
