Day 1: Tualatin to Prineville

Kricket, Mom and I all were able to flex our schedules enough to work a half day on Thursday allowing us to get out of Portland by 3 p.m. We filled up with diesel in Sandy and took 26 through Madras and into Prineville.

After checking into the Best Western, we headed to Barney Prine's Steakhouse. The food was great, and the owner/cook invited Abby back to the kitchen to have a look.

We stopped at the Tasty Freeze for milkshakes on the way home: Abby chose bubble gum, (blue,) ugh.

The hotel was top notch: clean, quiet, and the pool was open 24 hours a day. The next morning , we ate brekkie at the Apple Peddlar using voucher coupons from the hotel.
